ABOUT US
A Veteran owned business, Captain Dan was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio. He developed a love for fishing at a young age while visiting his grandparent’s lake cottage in Dowagiac, Michigan. He joined the Marine Corps in 2000 and served four years. During this time, he always found a way to fish where ever he was stationed. While deployed to Iraq, Dan fished in one of Sadam Hussain’s many man-made lakes. In 2004, he met his wife, Denise, who is also a Veteran (Air Force), while deployed to Afghanistan.
In 2009, Dan and Denise moved back to her home state of Rhode Island to live and start a family. Dan took to the native Rhode Islander way and quickly learned his way around the fishing community. As a firefighter, Dan spent a lot of his off-duty time on the water. Fishing became his passion.
In 2022, Captain Dan won the Rhode Island Tog Classic, reeling in a 15.4-pound tautog. His daughter, 10-year-old Olivia, won the youth division, reeling in a 8.4-pound tautog.
Captain Dan received his Captain Six Pack license in 2023. He is eager to get out on the water, share his love for fishing and help you make the catch of a lifetime.
THE BOAT
Anchor Management is a 2015 Parker 25-foot 2510 XLD powered by two Yamaha 150 outboards. The boat is equipped with a head and cabin. We can accommodate up to four passengers which allows for a comfortable and enjoyable fishing experience. If your group has more than four, we can try to accommodate on a case-by-case basis.
Our charter runs out of Newport, primarily fishing Narragansett Bay, the Sakonnet River and the waters off of Newport. Pickup will be at Fort Adams State Park, 90 Fort Adams Dr, Newport, RI. Captain will coordinate dock pickup.
We use several techniques to include trolling, bottom fishing and casting for the days catch. All bait and tackle are included on your charter. The Captains license covers all anglers, so no fishing license is needed. We target Striped Bass, Bluefish, Black Sea Bass, Fluke, Scup, Tog, bonito and Albies.
Whether you are a novice or a pro, we welcome you to fish with us.
WHAT TO BRING
- Camera
- Sunblock
- Hat and Sunglasses
- Comfortable clothing – it's traditionally cooler on the water so layering a sweatshirt and wind breaker is suggested
- You may want to bring a snack or lunch and some water
- Small cooler with ice (leave in vehicle) to take your fillets home

- All quality Bait and Tackle is included in price
- Fishing Licenses are covered when fishing on our boat
- All Legal fish / catch belong to the customer
- The captain has zero tolerance for drugs or hard alcohol
- A lost rod and reel are not included in price
- We can provide multi boat trips for groups larger then (4) or refer you to our good friends who can accommodate larger groups.
- The Mate or Captain will clean and package your catch - customary gratuity is 20%
- Safety is our priority, the captain has the right to cancel trip due to weather, if a new date can’t be found your deposit will be returned
- Instructional inshore fishing is available
